Engineering Turnover Package File Organizer
Assembles engineering turnover packages by finding each listed drawing and filing it into the correct package folder.
Problem / Challenge
Turnover packages are assembled from many P&ID, termination, detail, one-line and location drawings listed on a spreadsheet. Finding and copying each file by hand is repetitive and easy to get wrong.
Solution
A Python script reads the package spreadsheet and cleans the drawing-number columns. It searches the drawing library for matching files, copies them into each package's subfolders, and logs any drawing it could not find.
